The Adventure Education and Outdoor Leadership department is designed to be a high-impact academic experience focusing on interdisciplinarity and experiential learning. Coursework will equip students with the necessary tools to facilitate meaningful educational outdoor experiences with a variety of audiences while effectively managing risk and promoting social, environmental, and economic stewardship. With a range of available elective courses in complementary disciplines, students may choose a focus area that augments their understanding of adventure education’s social, environmental, and economic aspects or an area that supplements their chosen major.
