Nursing Assistant Training

Nursing Assistants, as part of the healthcare team, provide basic patient care under direction of nursing staff. St. Scholastica utilizes LeadingAge Minnesota Foundation's OnTrack, powered by EduCare, an online hybrid model of nursing assistant training. This course will meet both Wisconsin and Minnesota requirements to test to become a certified nursing assistant.

Learning Outcomes

Upon successful completion of this training course students will be able to:

1. Provide basic patient care under direction of nursing staff.
2. Test to become a certified nursing assistant.

Requirements

The training course includes a total of 78 hours of online, asynchronous and in-lab, synchronous learning activities. Students in the program are charged a course fee.

44 hours of theory online: schedule on your own time/completed asynchronously

34 hours in-person in Duluth or St. Cloud, two 8-hour days and two 9-hour days. Students must be 16 years of age and be able to lift 50 lbs., bend and stoop.
