A Bachelor’s degree in Health Informatics and Information Management provides students with the professional knowledge necessary to assume management responsibility for health records and health information systems in a variety of health related settings, including hospitals, clinics, long-term care settings, consulting firms, government agencies, insurance companies and software vendors. HIIM curricula includes a combination of clinical, technology, and management courses. It is ideal for the person who likes the healthcare environment but does not want direct patient contact. Completion of this degree earns eligibility to sit for the Registered Health Information Administrator (RHIA) credential.
