A Certificate in Applied Data Analytics provides an introduction into using data to create actionable insight for decision making. The certificate prepares students to use basic analysis methods to understand and prepare the data, conduct basic analysis on the data, and evaluate the ethical considerations of collecting and disseminating data and information. The curriculum includes the use of R and SQL languages to prepare and analyze data and produce basic data visualizations. Throughout the curriculum, students have opportunities to select their own data and choose problems they wish to study so that they can apply their unique expertise to study relevant data and generate meaningful insights. All courses in the certificate program may be applied to the full master's degree.
