The Bachelor of Arts in Accounting curriculum at St. Scholastica provides a foundation for accounting careers in all types of organizations. Accountants are integral to the management of many businesses including public accounting, consulting firms, manufacturing, healthcare, retail, banks, and nonprofits.
The program also prepares students to take the CPA or CMA examinations. The state of Minnesota requires applicants for the Certified Public Accounting (CPA) exam to complete specific accounting courses, have a bachelor’s degree and complete 150 credit hours. The accounting curriculum satisfies these course requirements and 128 of the 150 credit hours. Several options are available to fulfill the remaining 22 credits if a student chooses the CPA path.
