Education

Through equity-focused instruction and leadership educational experiences at the undergraduate, graduate, and doctoral levels, the Education Department in the Stender School of Leadership, Business, and Professional Studies prepares and empowers educators and educational professionals to become change agents. We foster individuals who can effectively address educational disparities and advocate for equitable opportunities for people in their sphere of influence.

Through our Education programs, you can prepare for Minnesota Teacher Licensure in elementary, secondary, special education, and K-12 reading. Programs are grounded in the Benedictine Values of community, hospitality, respect, stewardship, and a "love of learning," guiding our students to teach and lead with integrity, empathy, and a commitment to lifelong learning. We strive to empower our students to become catalysts for change, promoting social justice, equity, and excellence in teaching, learning, and leading.

Our Education programs are nationally accredited, offered in a variety of formats (on-ground, online, and hybrid) and emphasize the importance of equity, social justice, high-impact practices, educational technology, computational thinking, and collaborative partnerships. The Doctorate of Educational Leadership is a member of the Carnegie Project on the Education Doctorate (CPED), which provides inspiration and guidance for an equity-focused program.
