The Special Education minor provides students a strong foundation in disability law, educational policy and research to work with children with disabilities. This 100% online minor develops reflective practitioners who work to best meet the needs of academically and behaviourally diverse learners. Complements majors in fields outside of Education, including: Social Work, Psychology, Occupational Therapy, and Physical Therapy.

Learning Outcomes
Upon completion of the Special Education minor, the student will meet the set of program outcomes within the specialized content/context:
- Recognize and respond to bias and inequity within their vocational setting while concurrently learning to meet the individual needs of students.
- Conceptualize and synthesize content knowledge with an emphasis on issues such as culture, and values, including technical and declarative knowledge in their field of study.
- Effectively create instructional conditions grounded in pedagogical content knowledge.
- Expand their reflective practice to address the ideas of inclusive excellence, collaboration, and professionalism.
